The Wizard of Oz

One of my favorite movies of all time is the Wizard of Oz. It was one of the first, if not the first full length movie to use color. When I was in 9th grade, my studio art teacher made us do a lot of artwork based on surrealism and, being a huge pink floyd fan we used to listen to that music to get our minds going. I know, what does pink floyd and the wizard of oz have to do with each other. Well, according to my teacher, the band found a type of loop hole and made their CD, The Dark Side of the Moon to fit in with events that happen in the movie the Wizard of Oz. If you start the soundtrack right after the MGM lion roars the third time, the music goes right along with the movie. Since the movie was made in color it was very expensive, and my favorite, and the most noticeable part is when Dorothy opens the door and steps into a world of color and the song "Money" begins to play. (I added that clip) It's very hard to explain but I think it is awesome the way it fits together. Who the hell has the time to come up with something like that, it's amazing. Here is a website that explains it a little better and a few video clips from the movie. They are kinda long, but you should take the time to watch them.
